Three Online Education Development Office (OEDO) Teaching Assistants (TAs) were awarded Graduate Student Assistant Developer (GSA-D) Certificates.
At the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) in OEDO, TAs are involved in MOOC development. These TAs that acquire sufficient online teaching and materials development skills can write a report to qualify as a GSA developer.
To date 15 TAs have been awarded GSA certificates and these TAs are expected to serve as leaders for new TAs to develop the learning community.
*The Graduate Student Assistant (GSA) program provides active support to facilitate Tokyo Tech’s learning community by teaching students practical skills such as leadership, facilitation, teaching, communication, online course creation skills as well as project management. Graduate students can join the GSA program by taking courses offered by ILA (Institute for Liberal Arts) taught in Japanese on leadership, including certification on facilitation (GSA-F), as well as peer-review (GSA-R). Furthermore, the online education development office (OEDO) supports the GSA-D program in which students can qualify by taking coursework or working in OEDO as TAs on online courses.
